1. How do I reset the password of MySQL database?
Answer :
- Go to the “Main Menu > Control Panel > Restore Defaults” page of the web management UI.
- Click “Reset MySQL Database Password” and then click OK.
Password of MySQL database will be reset to blank.
2. What PHP, MySQL, and Apache versions does Synology Product support?

If your Synology Product is not upgraded to the latest DSM version, or you wish to obtain further information regarding PHP, MySQL and Apache, please follow the steps below:
- Log in to DSM as admin or a user belonging to the administrators group.
- Go to Main Menu > Control Panel > Web Services, and click the Web Applications tab.
- Tick Enable Web Station to enable the service.
- Open a text editor (ex: notepad.exe), type “<? phpinfo(); ?>”, and save it as a PHP file, such as “index.php”.
- Move the file to the web shared folder on your Synology Product.
- Open a browser, enter “http://SynologyProduct-IP/index.php” in the address field, and hit Enter on your keyboard.
- You can then see the PHP and MySQL versions on the web page.
3. How do I change the MySQL root password?
Answer :
Take phpMyAdmin version 2.8.2.1 for example,
- Type “http://server-IP/phpMyAdmin” in the address field of the browser and hit the “Enter” key.
- Click “Privileges”. You’ll see all the users on MySQL’s privilege tables.
- Check the user “root” whose Host value is localhost, and click the “Edit Privileges” icon.
- In the “Change password” field, click “Password” and enter a new password.
- Retype the password to confirm. Then click “Go” to apply the settings.
